Everyday Winter Makeup Routine

Hope you're well. I'm here to show you my everyday day makeup routine to which I have been sticking to over the past few weeks. I wear it when I have a little bit more time to do my makeup and when I'm not in 'potato mode' i.e. no makeup, bun and a whole lot of Netflix. I hope you enjoy.

I always start off with a clean and moisturised face.

I then dot a generous amount of the L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation in 10 Porcelain all over my face and blend it out with the Zoeva 104 Buffer Brush.

I then add the Catrice Camouflage Cream in Ivory under my eyes and on any imperfections and blend it out with my fingers.

To set everything in place I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Transparent using the Real Techniques Face Powder Brush.

To contour my face I use the Bahama Mama Bronzer from The Balm in the hollows of my cheeks with the Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint Brush. I also use whatever is left on the brush to slightly define my nose.

To bronze up my face I use the Ultra Bronze bronzer from Makeup Revolution on my temples and on the tops of my cheekbones with a fluffy angled brush from Coastal Scents.

For my blush I use the shade Treat from Makeup Revolution on the apples of my cheeks with the Zoeva 126 Luxe Cheek Finish brush.

For my highlighter I use the Highlight palette by the same brand. I use the gold shade from it and apply it to the top of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and my Cupid's bow with a fluffy blending brush from Coastal Scents which I then use to blend it into the skin.

To start off my brows, I run a spoolie through them to get the excess foundation and powder out of them and to shape them.

To fill my eyebrows in I use the shade 378 from Inglot and the 322 Brow Line brush from Zoeva. I begin my drawing two lines along the bottom of my brow and then two lines along the top. I then fill everything in between them with short brush strokes.

To set them in place and to make the front look a bit more hairy I use the Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown.

For my eyeshadow I use the Iconic Pro palette from Makeup Revolution. I begin by highlighting my browbone with the shade Ghost which is a matte white.

To start defining my crease I use the shade Fade which is a pale taupe colour which I blend in using the MAC 217 brush. I also blend along my lower lash line.

Then with the Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease Brush I blend in the colour Drama which is a medium brown matte into my crease.

To darken my crease I use the shade Afflicted which is a dark brown matte colour with a small, round blending brush.

I also run the same shade along my lower lashline with the Zoeva 226 Smudger Brush. 

On my lid I used the shade Stage with the Zoeva 234 Luxe Smoky Shader brush which is a red, copper colour.

I then used a small, flat brush from Coastal Scents to highlight the corner of my eye and my brow bone with the shade Need.

Recently, I have been using a black shadow instead of eyeliner to create my wing as it looks a little bit softer. Here, I used the shade Pitch with a 317 Wing Liner Zoeva brush to do so.

For my mascara, I used two generous layers of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara on my top on bottom lashes.

To finish off my makeup I use the Bouroijs Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick in 07 Nude-ist.

2015 Makeup Favourites

I'm back!!! Yes, I'm finally back to blogging after a very long break. I won't go into details of why there was no posts, let's just say I wanted to prioritise other things. 

Anyhow, I am here today to show you my favourite makeup products from last year, which by the way went by super quickly. I used these products throughout 2015 and I will definitively keep using them throughout 2016.

Brushes:

My favourite makeup brushes in the past year have been Zoeva brushes, more specifically the Rose Golden Vol. 2 set. They're super soft, durable and well made. They are absolutely stunning to look at and they are a pleasure to use. They all blend super well and now I can't imagine my makeup routine without them. The one bad thing about them that I could say is that because most of the bristles are white, they are prone to becoming discoloured. This happened to my blush brush (second from the right) and it makes me super upset because it ruins the brush's beautiful look. 

Face:

My favourite foundation has been the L'Oreal Infalliable 24H-Matte Foundation. As the name suggest it is a matte foundation which suits my skin very well as it is oily. It has really good coverage and it wears beautifully throughout the day. What I mean by this is that when I put it on it looks good, maybe a bit flat with all the matte-ness on my face. However, throughout the day it fuses with my skin and after a couple of hours it starts looking better and better. I absolutely love it.

 My favourite mattyfying powder is the same as last year and the year before that. It's the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I've loved it for years, it works great for me, does everything that I want it to and I found nothing that works better. So, I recommend it yet again.

My favourite bronzer this past year has been the Bahama Mama bronzer from the Balm. It is a stunning cool brown colour so it's great for contouring even my pale face. It's super pigmented which is good because you need very little to contour your face which means it'll last for a long time. This is also its downside because it's easy to use too much which I did the first few times I used it. But hey, practice makes perfect.

The Mary Lou-manizer from the Balm continues to be the best highlighter I ever used. It's finely milled, it's champagne colour is stunning, it reflects light like a beacon of light and hope and it's super pigmented. Whenever I wear it I always get questions and compliments on what it is that I have on my cheek bones. Well here it is so go and check it out. 

The concealer of the year has been the Catrice Camouflage Cream. Super creamy and high coverage. It will cover 99% of whatever needs covering, including tattoos according to various sources. I will say that it is a bit heavy to wear on an everyday basis under the eyes unless you have super duper dark circles.

So I don't have one specific blush that I've been loving last year. Instead, I have a whole palette of them. It's the Blush and Contour Palette from Makeup Revolution in Sugar & Spice. It includes six blushes and two highlighters in various shades from pinks to peaches. They're very well pigmented and blendable and the variety allows this palette to suit every look. Plus it's super cheap so you can't go wrong. 

Eyes

The mascara of the year is something I never expected. For the last 3 years or so I've been using the NYC Big Bold Mascara in Extra Black. It was super cheap and super great. However, Superdrug decided to stop stocking it and it is no longer easily available for purchase.I can't even explain how angry and upset I was when I found out. This however pushed me to try out new various mascaras and with this one I hit jackpot. It is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (bit of a kinky name). This is my first high end mascara and it is awesome. It volumizes, it lengthens and its super black. What also surprised me was that it was great to use from the start. Normally, with most mascaras you have to wait a few weeks since opening them for them to thicken and be good to use. However, this one was of the perfect consistency from the start. If you are looking for a high end mascara I would definitively recommend you check out this one.

My favourite fake eyelashes are on the opposite end of the price spectrum. These are the Sultry lashes from Primark which retail for £1. They are flexible which means they're easy to stick on and durable so that you can use them multiple times. Although if you lose them after a night out it's not much of a problem since they're so cheap. They're super long and flirty and make your eyes look doll like. I absolutely adore them.

The L'Oreal Gel Intenza eyeliner has definitively been a winner this past year. Super black, super creamy and great staying power. What more could you want?  

The brow product of the year has been an Inglot eyeshadow in the shade 378. It's a super cool toned brown which suits me very well. It had literally taken my brows to a whole new level. 

Eyeshadow Palettes

So I couldn't pick just one palette for this year. Eyeshadow palettes are my favourite products to use and try out so I have a lot of them and picking just one is an impossible choice. 

My favourite everyday drugstore palette has been the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 palette. It includes 8 matte shadows and 8 shimmery ones. All of these are warmed toned which bring out the blue of my eyes. They are very well pigmented and very blendable and they have very little to no fallout. This palette gets an extra point for the shadows not blending into one when blending a look i.e. the shadows are blended are transition from one colour to another smoothly but they don't fuse and look like one non-specific shade. 

 My favourite high-end everyday palette has been the Nude'tude palette from the Balm. Like the Iconic Pro 2 it is warmed toned which suits my eyes very well. The shadows are well pigmented. The main downside of this palette is the lack of matte shades as it only includes two. Other than that it is absolutely fantastic.

Another palette from the Balm that I have adored was the Meet Matt(e) Nude palette. It includes 9 neutral matte shades which are a mixture of warm and cool tones. All of them are well pigmented and easy to blend and they have no fallout. I think this is a great palette to have as it stands well on its own and it also compliments palettes such as the Nude'tude which lack matte shades.

The last eyeshadow favourite of 2015 is the Naked Smoky palette. I was super excited when this palette was announced and I could not wait to get my hands on it. This palette includes 12 shades which are a mixture of cool and warm tones (predominantly cool ones), 4 of which are matte. These are well pigmented and create stunning smoky eyelooks that the palette is intended for. These are the reasons I love this palette. However, there are some downsides to it. The shadows have a lot of fallout in them which would be fine if this palette didn't cost over £40. Moreover, many of the shades blend into one another to the point that you can't tell that you've used multiple shades. Don't get me wrong, this is a great palette and I love it but for the price it could have been better. Nonetheless, I have used this palette like crazy since I got it so it is definitively a favourite.

Lips

So I probably have a lot more lip favourites than these but these two have stood out to me the most. The first one is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick in the shade 07 Nudeist. This liquid lipstick is the most perfect shade of nude pink that I have ever seen. It's the my lips but better sort of a colour. It's super creamy and easy to apply and once it dries it stays put. It is not super drying as far as liquid lipsticks go and it feels super comfortable on the lips.

The last makeup favourite of 2015 is a Makeup Revolution Pro Lipstick in Looking Ahead. It's a dark brown colour with creamy consistency which looks stunning when layered over a red lipliner. Also it smells like heaven, vanilla heaven. And I don't mean it smells nice when you smell the tube, no you can smell that vanilla on your lips. I guess if you don't like the scent of vanilla you wouldn't be a fan but I love it.

Well, these are my 2015 makeup favourites. There's probably a lot more but I think I'd be here forever if I listed every single one of them. These are definitively the best of the best and I recommend every single one of them for you to try out. I'll see you in my next post.
