Back to School Hair and Makeup

Hey guys,

I hope that you're all well. I'm super busy with settling into the routine of being back at uni, but I realised a promised you guys a back to series, so here it is. I'm here today to show you an easy, fresh look appropriate for school, uni or work, I hope you enjoy.

Makeup

Step 1 - Face

Since I wanted a super fresh look but I wanted it to have a strong staying power to last all day I started out with priming my face using my fingers with the Prime and Fine primer from Catrice.

Since I felt that super strong, heavy coverage foundation is unnecessary for this occassion I used the Under20 BB cream is which is much lighter than a foundation, but still gives my face a nice even finish as well as a healthy glow. I just used a flat top foundation brush to blend it out.

Then I used a concealer from Catrice in Ivory, applying it with my fingertip underneath my eyes to cover my dark circles and also on any imperfections and redness to improve the appearance of my skin.

Normally this is where I'd powder. However since I wanted a glowy, healthy finish I used the MaxFactor Miracle Creme Blush in Soft Pink with a small stiffling brush on my cheeks.

To make my face non-greasy and my makeup long lasting, I used the Stay Matte Powder from Rimmel in Transparent with a Real Techniques Powder brush.

To finish my face off, I used the Soap and Glory Glow All Out Powder to add some extra glow to my cheeks. I just applied this to the top of my cheekbones with a small angled brush from ELF.

Step 2 - Eyes

To me filling in my brows is an absolute must. However since I wanted my makeup to be softer than usual so I used the medium and the lightest shade from the brow kit from Makeup Revolution in Medium Dark, and just used a small angled brush to fill them in.

Then I used a highlighting pencil on my water line to open up my eyes, make them appear bigger and more awake. The product that I used was from Catrice.

Next, it was time for my super simple eye makeup. I used the Iconic 1 palette from Makeup Revolution for this (dupe for the Naked palette from Urban Decay). I started out with applying a soft brown colour with a fluffy blending brush to my crease and blending it out.

Then I used a small crease brush and a dark brown eyeshadow into my outer V to deepen up my eyes.

Lastly I applied a shimmering, soft pink colour all over my lid and in my inner corner with a flat eyeshadow brush.

To thicken up my lashline I used a penliner from NYC in Dark Brown. I opted for a brown liner as it is a lot softer and more natural than a black one, so it's perfect for this look.

To finish off the eyes I applied my favourite NYC Big Bold Mascara in Extra Black and ta-da, my eyes are finished.

Step 3 - Lips

I opted for my favourite, better-than-my-lips lipstick from Soap and Glory in Missing pink and my makeup was done. Super easy and quick, it just looks like it's time consuming when broken up like this.

Hair

Step 1

I applied my Batiste dry shampoo to the roots of my hair, brush through it well and I put it in a high ponytail.

Step 2

I used a sock ( you can use a hair donut, I just didn't have one) to create a bun. I pulled the ends of my hair through the middle of the sock-donut, tucked the ends underneath it, and then pushed the donut from the bottom up with my thumb, and from the top down with my fingers to make the hair wrap around it and create a bun. when it reached the top of my head, I put a bobble around it to secure it and bam my hair was done.

Finished look

I hope that you like this look and that you enjoyed this post. I'll see you in my next one.

September Non-Beauty Favourites

Hey guys,

I hope that you're all well and that you're enjoying the change of season. I'm here today to show you some of the other, non-beauty related things that I've been loving in the month of September.I hope that you'll enjoy and maybe check some of these things out.

Accessories

1. Chelsea boots - shoes of the autumn/winter season. These particular ones are from New Look and for the first 15 minutes of wearing them they were like hell that was contained on my feet, but after that they became more and more comfortable with every step.

They go great with any outfit, casual or otherwise, and make my legs look super long and slim. So I'm head over the heels with them (puns, puns, puns).

2. Small round sunglasses - I know that sunglasses are typically a spring and summer accessory but my eyes are super sensitive to sunlight and they get watery if I don't wear glasses on sunny days. My boyfriend got these glasses in Poland for himself but then decided that they look weird on him and he handed them over to me. To me, they scream 90's and I think they rock.

Activities

1. Trip to London

At the beginning of the month I went on my first trip to London. And I was taken aback. I think that that city is absolutely breath taking with it's scenery and history around every corner. I only wish that I had more time to explore it and hopefully one day I will.

2. Visit to WB Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter

I went ahead and embraced my nerdy, Potterhead ways. The studio is an amazing experience that explains the behind the scenes of the movies and gives a different outlook on the films and makes one appreciate them even more.

Drinking Butterbeer. It was bloody grim btw. They had two bins for the butterbeer, one for the cups and one for the liquid itself. Goes to show that it's expected to be bad.

TV Shows

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - A show from the 90's about a teenage girl that has been chosen to protect  the world from evil. It's filled with action, drama, crazy love plots and a lot of WTF moments.

2. Suits - A drama about about lawyers in New York. It's sort of like House, but instead of a witty, slightly arrogant doctor we get two lawyers cut from that same cloth.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post and I'll see you in my next one.
