August was a big month for me. I turned 21 (Happy Birthday to me) which ensued in a lot of birthday celebrations, starting with family gatherings to surprise parties thrown by friends, party thrown by me and a trip to Belgium. All and all it has been a very exciting and happy month for me.
What went along with it is a lot of new makeup which I bought for myself and also received as gifts. At one point I realised how ridiculous of an amount it was so I'm officially on a makeup shopping ban for a while. It also made it very hard for me to create this post as it was so hard to choose. Nonetheless, I did it. So here are my favourite makeup picks from the past month.
I <3 Makeup Naked Chocolate palette
This palette is amazing. It consists of a variety of pink and purple toned shades that are on neutral side which makes it perfect for everyday looks. It has 16 eyeshadows some of which are matte and some are shimmery. They're all well pigmented, blendable and have little to no fall out. It has been my go to palette this month.
Too Faced Love Flush blush palette
This palette consists of 6 blushes ranging from peach toned ones, to pink ones and purple ones. And that's why I love it. With this one palette I can match my blush to any look which is very handy. The blushes are blendable and pigmented but not to the point where they're too pigmented and make me look like a clown.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in Light Medium
This wonderful palette consists of two highlighting powders, one highlighter and 3 contour/bronze shades. They're all pigmented, blendable, even and look amazing on the skin.It is so easy to contour with this and make it look either very gentle for everyday or a little bit more dramatic for evening looks.
Kylie Cosmetics Birthday Edition Kylie Matte Liquid Lipstick set.
This was one of the most amazing presents I have ever gotten. My amazing and miracle working boyfriend managed to get his hands on the Kylie Birthday Collection set for me.
The products in it are amazing in quality, look beautiful and are all infused with real gold.
My current pick from the collection is the Liquid Lipstick set which consists of 6 mini Kylie Liquid Lipsticks ranging from pinks, to browns and even reds all of which are amazingly pigmented, long lasting and not drying on the lips. The cherry on top of the cake is that they are very handy when travelling due to their smaller size as you get to bring more colours with you without taking up lots of space.
Makeup Revolution Ultra Strobe Cream
This is a product that I never thought I would like or let alone love. I use this as a base for my foundation as it gives a golden, healthy glow to my skin. As well as that it smooth out my skin and makes my foundation look amazing on top of it.
I will say that if you have oily skin like me you shouldn't be afraid of trying this out as it doesn't make me look any more oily than I normally would plus it makes the foundation last a little bit longer as it has something to adhere to.
Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade in Medium Brown
This is a game changer when it comes to brows. It's easy to use and to create defined but natural looking brows as it allows for a precise application of small brow-hair-like strokes. The colour is on the cool side and depending on how dark or light you want your brows to look, you can layer it accordingly.
I <3 Makeup Blushing Hearts in Iced Hearts
This is a bomb highlighter. It gives Mary-Loumanizer from the Balm (which is my holy grail highlighter) a run for its money. It's a mixture of pink and champagne colours, super pigmented, not glittery and it gives the skin a beautiful glowy, almost wet, finish.
