Hey guys I'm here today with an affordable make-up haul from Make-up Revolution (everything is available from here).
Firstly I picked up a new foundation. It's called 'The One Foundation' and I picked it up in Shade 3. Usually I tend to reach for the palest yellow toned foundation available however the lightest shade that was available was literally white. So if you can pick it up if you're extremely faired skinned, a vampire or to use as a mixing foundation to lighten up those that are too dark for you. It's consistency is very watery so I thought that it would be hard work with but it actually applies very easily and blends that way too. Also it does everything that it says on the bottle, it's full coverage, buildable and has a beautiful matte finish.It wears well throughout the day, isn't patchy and doesn't oxyside. I've used it twice so far and I am extremely impressed. This foundation will be a strong opponent against my all time favourite Rimmel Match Perfection. PRICE £4.
The next item that I picked up was the Liquid concealer in the shade Fair. another very impressive product. It covers my dark circles and spots, doesn't crease and matches my skin tone well. PRICE £1.50
Next, I picked up a couple Powder Blushes. I picked them up in shades Now! and Treat. Now! is a lilicy pink colour which gives a very natural flush of colour to the cheeks. Treat is a peachy coloured blush which is a perfect colour for spring and summer. They are both very nicely pigmented and I am very impressed with them . PRICE £1
I also picked up a creme blush in the shade Rose Cream. I've not used it yet however the shade seems very nice. PRICE: £1.50
I also picked up a highlighting powder to put on my cheeks. It's a beautiful iredecent colour called Peach Lights, that isn't overly glittery. Price £3.00
The next items that I picked up I wasn't very impressed with, unlike the others. These were the nail polishes in the colours Cool Days (the mint colour), True Blue (the blue colour)and All You Need Is Love (the pink colour). There are a number of reasons of why I wasn't so impressed with these products. First of all I need 4 layers for the blue and the mint to be opaque. Even after 4 layers the colours wasn't completely opaque. The pink only needed 3 layers however it was incredibly gloopy and applied horribly. As a matter of fact they applied incredibly streaky and did not look even whatsoever. There were a couple of things that were good about these nail polishes. They dried quickly which helped with the application of the numerous layers. Also they lasted relatively well as they did not chip for 4 days and I do a lot of housework chores so my nails tend to chip quickly. Nonetheless I would not recommend these products. PRICE: £1 each
The subsequent item that I picked up I have quite mixed feelings about. It is the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in What I Believe. It's a lovely pinky colour which is one of it's main attributes. However it is problematic in its application. If I apply a somewhat generous amount it cracks on my lips and looks horrible within 10 minutes. Therefore when I apply it I have to blot it which takes away from the colour and makes it lasts for a shorter period of time. PRICE £3
In order to end the post on a good note I'm going to end with the stars of the show. The MakeUp Revolution Iconic Pallets (1,2 and 3).They are dupes for the Naked pallets from Urban Decay (the numbers of the Iconic pallets correspond with the numbers of the Naked pallets). The colours are very similar as I own the Naked 2 pallet and I compared to the Iconic 2 (The next post coming up will probably be a comparison). The colours are incredibly pigmented and they wear perfectly without the day without creasing. I would definitively recommend these! PRICE: £4
